Your data is your data.
Written in plain language, so what's collected and why is actually clear — not filler text nobody reads.
Your data is your data
Your journal entries and everything derived from them belong to you, not us. We don't sell, rent, trade, or license your personal data or journal content to anyone — no advertisers, no data brokers, no third parties of any kind — under any circumstances, for any price. Our business model is people paying us directly for the app, never data being the product.
What we collect
Your account email; the text of what you write; the emotion and functional-state scores generated from it; your answers to follow-up reflection questions; the getting-to-know-you survey (age range, gender, journaling frequency) you filled in at signup; and, only if you turn it on, whether App Lock is enabled. App Lock itself never sends anything to us — the Face ID/fingerprint/PIN check happens entirely on your device through your phone's own operating system, and Verafeel never sees, receives, or stores any biometric data at all.
Why we collect it
Only to run the app: showing your reflections back to you, scoring and calibrating to your own patterns over time, syncing your entries across devices you sign into, and sending you account-related email (like a password reset) when you ask for one. We don't use your journal content for advertising, profiling for third parties, or any purpose you didn't sign up for.
Where it lives
In a Supabase-hosted Postgres database, encrypted at rest at the infrastructure level. Row-level security means only your signed-in account can read your own rows, not other users, and not us, without deliberately querying the database for support or debugging. Application-level (end-to-end) encryption of entry text is planned future hardening, not built yet.
AI-assisted scoring
When you write an entry, its text is sent to an AI provider (Anthropic's Claude, or a compatible provider we use for the same purpose) solely to generate your emotional and functional-state scores. That text is not used by us or by our AI provider to train any AI model, and is not retained by them beyond what's needed to return your score.
Crisis resources
Tapping a crisis-support option (call, text, or a helpline link) hands off directly to your phone's own dialer, messaging app, or browser. Verafeel doesn't monitor, log, or get notified when you do this.
Your rights and choices
You can sign out any time. From Profile → Account, you can change your password, export a copy of your entries as a file you can open in any spreadsheet app, or delete your account outright (with a 24-hour window to change your mind before it's permanent). You can also just email verafeelapp@gmail.com for anything not covered by those, a correction, a question, anything else.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (in-app or by request), we delete your personal data and journal content within a reasonable time, except where a short retention period is needed to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute.
Age
Verafeel isn't intended for anyone under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.
Changes
This policy may change as the product does. We'll tell you directly about anything material, not just via a silent update to this screen.
